Introduction

This highly developed and staged reading was the first reading of Starboard Home, outside of New Dramatists in New York City. The write Joseph Goodrich (Winner of the PEN award for a mystery play) was in residence for the entire rehearsal process, introducing the students to the concepts of a play written "in the style of" a madcap comedy. The cast included a veteran Milwaukee actor, permitting the students to learn from his experience and expertise. An added plus was the presence of Honor Malloy (of New Dramatists), who participated in feedback and master classes, herself an award winner author (Lerner and Lowe Prize.)
